Are Salt Replacers Healthy?

Salt replacers are generally include potassium. Manufacturers has began to prefer salt replacers due to salt’s bed effects. But the considerable potassium consumption can be harmful for some individual, especially who have kidney disease.

According to renal specialist, the potassium content of food products has to be declared in labels due to warn dialysis patients. According to specialist food manufacturers should use potassium instead of sodium, but should adjust the amount and declare on the label. It has been published that potassium is heart healthy for most people.

There are also alternative nutrition such as spices and spice mixes, lemon and lemon juice. Although it is effective to use them as salt replacers in food industry, they are useful in home cooking.
