According to Food Standards Agency new, milk from two dairy farms in Northern Ireland contain higher level of dioxin than legal limits. But the health risk from consuming contaminated milk and milk products is low if we compare pork and beef affected by feed contamination last year.
They regulate the dioxin content of the milk to the legal limits by diluting with milk from other farmers. FSA is not calling for a withdrawal of any milk products from the shops, but strictly analyse them.
They think that dioxin may contaminated to the milk from animal fa or previously eaten contaminated animal feed.
