Recombinant Bovine Somatotropin (rBST) Growth Hormone Is Removed From Dairy Products

rBST is a protein and produced in the animal buddy normally for growth. Nearly 60 years ago it has started to been isolated from buffalo  and used for promoting milk production of cows. In eighties recombinant bovine somatotropin was produced by DNA technology.

The milk obtained from rBST threatened cow has more fat and protein. But  rBST has some bad effects on human health. These are;

  • Causing cancer
  • Due to increasing milk production, the immune system of the caws get weaker. So The usage of antibiotics increase and people are contaminated with antibiotic. Due to antibiotic contamination the buddy resistance decrease.

Due to consumer request, dairy giant Dannon will have milk products free of the much criticized dairy cow growth hormone by the end of this year in their Texas plant. They say that now, 80% percent of their products are already “rBST free.”
