Food Hygiene For Children

To consume a food, it has to be safe. What is safe food? Safe food is a food which is clean, not spoiled, and not include hazard substances. Raped foods make health problems.
What is cleanliness? It is removing dirt from food and surfaces that contact the food. What is hygiene? It is removing all disease factors from foods and surfaces that contact the food.

What Are The Contamination Factors?

  • Physical factors; foreign materials except food glass, hair, fly etc…
  • Chemical factors; pesticide, packing materials, detergent, heavy metals, dioxin etc…
  • Biological factors; some kind of microorganisms.

Pathogen bacteria are harmful. They grow in open packed foods in humid and warm conditions very rapidly. They cause illnesses. Bacteria are so small that when 2000 come together, they can be seen.

What Should Children Do To Avoid From Food Poisoning?

  • You sould provide personal hygiene. Wash your hands before and after eating, after coming home, after bathroom, after touching money, after sneezing/coughing,
  • After washing hands, you should dry them with clean towel, not with your clothes.
  • You should not buy open sold foods.
  • You should not buy foods that not contain label information.
  • You should buy foods by expires
  • You should not leave easy to spoil foods like egg, mil and milk products, meat and meat products etc. in room temperature
  • You should not leave lunch box on radiator
  • You should keep raw, cooked and semi-cooked foods separately to prevent contamination.of harmful microorganisms.
  • Do not keep fridge open for long time.
  • If you eat in dining hall, be sure that the tools are clean and food is cooked well.
