Benefits Of Vitamin D: Vitamin D strengthens bones and teeth by regulating calcium and phosphate absorption, so it is important for babies and kids to consume enough vitamin D. It prevents rachitism. It regulates intestines. Vitamin D is beneficial for muscles, skin and pancreas. It is required for thyroid functions and normal blood clotting.

What Are The Sources Of Vitamin D? Normally, people who benefit enough sun shine produce vitamin D adequately. Sun is the main source of vitamin D. It also exist in fish meat, fish oil, milk and egg yolk.

Vitamin D Deficiency: Vitamin E deficiency causes bone and teeth deformation,  rachitism. For adults it may cause bone softening, caries, anxiety and abnormal sleep.

Vitamin D Excess: The necessity of the vitamin D varies according to age and life style of the person. But the excess of vitamin D cause nausea, vomit, diarrhea, anorexia, high tension, high cholesterol, head-age, capillary deformation and even deaths.

Especially for babies and kids, vitamin D excess cause mental and physical disorder and cease bone development which case short stature.

Daily Vitamin D Requirement: 10 mg/day (400 IU)

My little child is shorter than his friend Is it due to lack of vitamin D.
